How eBay fees work in 2026
When you sell on eBay, two fees come out of almost every sale: the final value fee and a per-order fee. The final value fee is eBay's commission, charged as a percentage of the total amount the buyer pays — the item price plus any shipping you charge. For most categories in 2026, sellers without a Store pay about 13.6% (many common categories use a 13.25% base), and Basic Store subscribers and above pay a lower rate, roughly 12.35% to 12.7%.
On top of that percentage, eBay charges a fixed per-order fee: $0.40 for orders over $10, or $0.30 for orders of $10 and under. It's charged once per order, no matter how many items are in it.

Does eBay charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The final value fee is calculated on the total the buyer pays, so any shipping you charge is included in the fee base. This is why building shipping into the item price and offering "free shipping" produces the same fee — eBay taxes the total either way.
Poshmark and Mercari fees
Poshmark keeps it simple: a flat 20% commission on any sale of $15 or more, and a flat $2.95 on sales under $15. There are no separate listing or payment fees.
